SHORT HISTORY OF FOOTBALL AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE LAWS OF THE GAME.

(a)1845;Eastern college has the earliest known set of rules of football.
(b)1848;Each major public had by now developed their own rules and in order to standardise all various
             regulations so that competions could be held at5) trinity college cambridge.
(c)1856;Shelfied the ordest football club founded in 1855 adopts the new rules.
(d)1863;On 01 Dec 1863 the football association was formed in England and establish it's own set of 14
              Laws.
(e)1865;It was agreed that a tape must be stretched across the goal at a height of 8 feet.
(f)1866;The offside states that, there must be at least 3 opponents between attacker and goal.
(g)1869;Goal kicks are introduced.
(h)1871;The F.A. Cup was introduced and the goalkeeper was mentioned for the first time.
(i)1872;The size of the ball is fixed for the first time.
(j)1874;Shinguards are introduced and UMPIRES are mentioned in the laws.
(k)1875;The crossbar,the shelfied football association innovation replace the goal  tape.
(m)1877;The FA and the shelfied association agree to one uniform code of the laws of the game.
(n)1878;The whistle was used for the first time.
(o)1882;The two handed throw in was introduced.
(p)1890;Goal nets used for the first time.
(q)1891;The penalt kick was introduced and a Referee and Two Linesmen replace the umpire.
(r) 1898;The number of official laws reach the modern number of 17 Laws. (s)1905; Goal keeper are ordered to stay on their goal line for penalties.
(t)1912;Goal keeper use of hand restricted to his pen
alt area.
(u)1913;Distance of opponents at free kicks extended from 8 to 10 yards.
(v)1914;Distance of opponents at corner kick is also 10 yards.
(w)1920;Players can not be offside at throw in.
